Mr. Davies acted as Project Manager for this study for the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation to undertake an analysis of opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency in handling trade goods into and out of British Columbia through the development of Inland Container Terminals.

IBI Group was the lead consultant on this project, with assistance from Hatch Mott MacDonald. This project included a baseline analysis of inland container terminals; review of best practices and key success factors for inland container terminals; identification of current container flows; and a financial analysis including identification of major cost factors in the establishment and operation of an inland container terminal.

On the basis of this analysis, the need and viability of inland container terminals on both Southern and Northern corridors connecting the BC ports to inland markets was assessed.
