Identification of High Risk Carriers (2012)

DTCI collaborated with Steve Hayto of S5 Services on a study for BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement to provide recommendations for improving the ability of the province’s National Safety Code rating system to identify commercial trucking firms at high risk for accidents.

For this study for the BC Ministry of Transportation, a model developed for the U.S. Federal Highway Administration was adapted to estimate economic benefits to shippers from enhanced reliability of truck shipments on three major highway corridors in B.C.
